About Us

bgcOur Mission – The mission of the Madison-Morgan County Boys & Girls Club is to inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring citizens.

The Facts – Since opening our doors midway through the 2008-2009 school year and providing core programs to some 300 local youths from 6 to 18 at our Club and hundreds more through our partnership with the Morgan County Schools. Our core programs develop and enhance:

  • Character & Leadership Development
  • Education & Career Development
  •  Health & Life Skills
  • The Arts
  • Sports/Fitness/Recreat ion

Some of these special programs include:

  • Smart Girls – A class that aims to help early adolescent girls have a positive self-image and make good decisions regarding personal safety, relationships and a healthy lifestyle.
  • Power Hour – 60 minutes devoted each day to enhancing academic skills with staff and volunteers
  • Keystone Club is geared for members ages 14-18 and focuses on academic success, career, and community service.
  • RISE (Reading, Intelligence, Standards and Education).This program was developed by Bobby Mackey, Director of Education for the Boys and Girls Club of North Central Georgia and Holly Copelan of the Morgan County Primary School.RISE is an all-male reading program that targets youth in an effort to help them understand the importance of reading and education.
  • Torch Club targets youths ages 11-13 and helps meet the need of character development at this critical stage.
